Are Sundays always "fun days" for you or do you tend to get a case of the Sunday scaries (that sinking feeling of Monday looming around the bend)?
Whether you've got your Sunday routine down solid, or you consider Sunday a mini-Monday, you can't argue that a little self care to kick off your day is a mood shifter in all the right ways.
EASY LIKE SUNDAY MORNING.

When planning your Sunday morning of self care, do some easy prep-work on Saturday evening (this way you wake up and can RELAX instead of having to do work for your blissful hours).
10 SUNDAY MORNING SELF CARE IDEAS:
Move over Monday, going to hang onto these weekend vibes just a little extra...
1. TURN OFF YOUR ALARM + SLEEP IN
There's something extra sweet about waking up without being forced to on occasion, especially if you don't get to very often. Use your morning of self care as an excuse to sleep in a little extra and notice how great it feels to wake up when your body is ready. If you're used to waking up early, your body alarm clock might pop your eyes open around your normal time...but ease into the day by lingering under your covers a bit!
Enjoy a cup of your favorite tea while you decide on your word for the week. Have you ever chosen your word for the year? Something to inspire you and keep you accountable to your intentions. Pick a word for this particular week! Jot it down on a happy colored sticky and pop that baby on your night stand so that it's the first thing you see each morning when you wake.
3. DIFFUSE A CALMING ESSENTIAL OIL BLEND
When I'm making time to relax, I always try to set the mood with a matching scent. The right essential oil blends can literally calm your system. Some of my favorite blends are :
Vanilla + Lavender
Vanilla + Bergamot
Buddha Wood + Grapefruit
Lavender + Bergamot
RELAX + RECHARGE.
4. BREAKFAST IN BED + A BOOK / ADULT COLORING BOOK
Enjoy a comforting and refreshing breakfast in bed. Whether it's a fresh grapefruit or your full blown traditional favorites, enjoy it at ease and in a different setting. Keep yourself snuggled in bed and open up your favorite book or adult coloring book to lazily enjoy with your delicious meal.
5. PLAY YOUR FAVORITE TUNES
Beats that chill you out or inspire your week...give your morning of self care a soundtrack! Do you ever notice that when you put on music, how it really shifts the mood? Seriously, it's amazing and can completely change things up. Go with your gut of what sounds good in the moment and play those tunes!
6. TAKE A RELAXING BATH OR SHOWER
Yes, it's the morning....and???? Doesn't matter, you can relax ANY time of the day. You'll feel amazing if you take a calm bath or shower before kicking off the day. Don't forget to add your most favorite oils, exfoliators, candles and skin care products and then stay awhile. Try to change it up from your normal routine so that it feels special.
7. SOCIAL MEDIA SPA DAY
Your phone can have a spa day too! Put it on the charger and walk away. Seriously, sister. Take a mini-vacation from the socials and all of the notifications (if it feels better, you could totally prep your people for your short siesta). If you love it, maybe you can implement it a little into this week! ;)
8. MEDITATE + YIN
Bring your morning of mind-body self care full circle. Dedicate a bit of your time to getting present with a meditation and/or a short yin yoga sequence. It will awaken your mind, body, heart and soul for your week ahead.
9. PLAN FOR YOUR WEEK AHEAD
Don't let this task bring you out of your zone too much...it's on the list because it's a major part of you letting all of your Sunday therapy carry into your week as much as possible. Do you notice that when you feel organized, you feel better, more capable and even more at ease during a busy time? From meal planning to your to dos, to planning things that feel good for your soul, to planning your self care for the week....get organized with it and put it down on paper so that it's official and you can enjoy the rest of your Sunday. You might even kick off your week feeling excited about what's ahead!
10. HAVE A PICNIC LUNCH
If it's a nice day, enjoy your lunch outside before moving into the rest of your day! Grab some of your most favorite healthy lunch items, snacks and drinks - pack them up in a basket with a blanket and your shades. You could go on an easy stroll or more rigorous hike, head to a park or find a spot by a favorite body of water. Celebrate your morning of self love to the fullest.
Does that not sound like the perfect Sunday morning?! Just have a short amount of time? Go for a few of these ideas, or sprinkle your own favorites in if some of these don't appeal...the point is to take time every once in awhile to slow things down, enjoy, and do something amazing for you.
